Frugivore Magazine Likes Me!

Frugivore Magazine is running a series on Black Female Vegetarians, like your very own SoulVegMama.  In fact, I’m the current feature up now.

I haven’t written much about my rationale for vegetarianism or how we rock that lifestyle in our household on this blog, but I really should.  In the meanwhile, here’s a snippet from the piece:

In retrospect, how do you feel about meat? Or do you have any thoughts on America’s meat industry?

Well, I believe in everyone’s right to choose what they consume and don’t hold up vegetarianism as the ideal diet for everyone. I think that conscious eating that considers the cost on our planet, our bodies, and our fellow earth creatures is really critical though…

In case you’ve never checked out the mag, it’s a very accessible online magazine that’s update daily and “offers journalistic and opinionated editorial material by some of the most innovative minds in nutrition, athletics, fitness, and culture.”  I love that they include diverse viewpoints and approaches to health topics.  Read the rest of my pro-veg goodies over at Frugivore by clicking here (or go to http://bit.ly/psWStw).

They featured our good sistafriend and breastfeeding compadre Jeanine and her fantastic cub from it’s better at home last week.
